The parking lot in Canal Park is starting to transform into an entertainment hub for Grandma’s Marathon weekend.
All of the pieces are getting into motion as crews are busy setting up the Big Top Tent for runners and spectators to have fun in during the races.
“It’s a couple hour project and a lot of people are hard at work to get it set up. Once you see the final tent put up, it’s a fun experience and then we will get some of the other auxiliary tents put up later in the week,” said Public Relations Director for Grandma’s Marathon, Bob Gustafson.
Employees say seeing the tent up truly signals the start of Grandma’s Marathon week.
“It’s the most exciting time for us and now as the days get closer, more and more starts happening and you’ll start to see more pieces of the puzzle getting put into place in Canal Park,” said Gustafson.
Entertainment in the tent starts Friday at 8 p.m.
