The Swedish Cultural Society of Duluth held its annual Midsommar celebration Monday.

The holiday is traditionally celebrated around June 19 or 20, but venue constraints required the society to hold it early.

Traditionally Swedish citizens spend the day celebrating the light of summer as parts of Sweden may experience daylight for an entire 24 hour period.

The Duluth celebration included traditional Swedish clothing, music, dance, and food.

The Swedish Cultural Society will be holding a similar event in the winter recognizing the 24 hours of darkness experienced in Sweden at that time.
