A local soccer group left Wednesday for a stay in a Scandinavian nation.
The Duluth Växjö Soccer Exchange team is on their way to Växjö, Sweden.
About 60 players from four teams will stay there for nearly two weeks with their host families for a three day tournament and cultural activities.
“It’s really about a time for the kids to get to meet and get friends with a child from another culture,” Duluth Växjö Soccer Exchange team president Tricia Bunten said. “Learn what’s different about Swedish teenagers, what’s the same. What do they like to do that’s similar, what do they do that’s different.”
The group returns July 2nd.
