Runners are arriving and race day preparation is they key to success on the big day.

Even for seasoned racers, days before a race can be stressful.

Employees at the Duluth Running Company say nutrition and sleep are key.

Runners should carb up but eat food you are used to.

The annual all you can eat spaghetti feed kicks off Friday morning from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It’s important to stay hydrated between mile markers.

“I think the best thing you can do is let your training speak for itself and do whatever you’ve done in training.  So, if you drink power aid during training, drink power aid during the race,” said Duluth Running Co. Employee, Mike Ward.

But, most importantly everyone should get a good night of sleep Thursday.

“A day before the race. No one sleeps well the day before the race anyway. So, I think on Thursday night, I’d really put a high emphasis on getting a lot of sleep,” said Ward.

Race day kicks off with the half marathon starting Saturday morning at 6:15 a.m.
