Crews Prepare Grandma’s Starting Line In Two Harbors

It’s beginning to look more like race day at the starting line in Two Harbors.

Workers have been busy for months setting up the fences, placing the caution tape, painting the start line and bringing more than 220 Porta Potties.

But, Friday is the busiest day for crews to finish last minute jobs.

“Later on today, they will be putting up more signs for the runner: where to go, where to drop off their sweat bags and other various important things,” said Grandma’s Set Up Coordinator, David Olson.

After all runners cross the line, volunteers will immediately start taking it down.

“People start cleaning up the shoot and taking out things.  Volunteers are out for an hour and a half later. Come Monday, the county comes out with a crew that I hire to take down all the fencing,” said Olson.

More than 200 volunteers will be at the starting line.
