Breweries in Duluth have been able to sell 64-ounce growlers to customers on Sundays for a few weeks now, but one brewery hasn’t joined in on the action just yet.

Bent Paddle Brewing Co. has had to postpone its plans to open the tap room and offer growler sales on Sundays.

“We wanted to be open on Sundays to offer another community experience and also another brewery tour,” said Bent Paddle co-founder Karen Tonnis.

The City of Duluth required the production brewery to file an extension on its permit to allow those Sunday sales.

Reps from the brewery will await approval from the Duluth City Council, and are hoping to have Sunday sales by the end of July.

“Hang in there – we are working on it and once we’re open it’ll be a great celebration,” Tonnis said.

Bent Paddle is planning to have their Sunday sales begin in conjunction with All Pints North Beer Fest on July 26 in Duluth’s Bayfront Park.
