Tower’s oldest church will be a building block for Tower’s latest development efforts.

The St. Mary’s Episcopal church will be restored as a community arts and cultural center.

It is expected to be a venue for concerts, lectures, weddings and other events.

Residents say it will enhance the cultural life Tower has to offer.

“The more I live here, the more I realize this town really needed this kind of facility.  There’s tremendous interest in the arts,” said project chairman, Mary Batinich.

The church will be moved to it’s new foundation at the beginning of August.
