Thursday Afternoon, the Duluth Honor Guard gladly accepted the keys to a shiny 2015 transit van.

Benna Ford in Superior donated the 15 passenger vehicle to make it easier for the honor guard when they travel great distances.

They could not be more grateful for this donation and Captain John Marshall was left speechless.

“There are no words to express the gratitude for a business to support our mission the way that they have. Again, I’m very grateful as the captain. A gift like this allows me to keep my men and equipment together,” said Marshall.

Transporting people and materials to many funerals through the years takes a toll on the group’s individual cars.

This vehicle will allow them to be more efficient when traveling.

“A lot of these guys are retirees on fixed incomes. So, it saves us a tremendous amount of money on fuel,” said Marshall.

The Honor Guard performs more than 200 funerals every year.
