There’s no doubt that Duluth is a craft beer town, and many of the breweries started out as folks brewing beer at home.

Last Chance Liquor Store in Duluth has had a small selection of home brewing supplies in addition to their normal stock, but as that store is set to close – its owners are shifting their attention to the home brewers.

Duluth Homebrew Supply is the newest store to open at the Fitger’s Complex in Duluth.

From hops to yeast to grain to flavor-enhancers, they have everything the beer-brewing hobbyist might need to brew a batch of craft beer.

Co-owner Katie Hagglund says home brewing is already popular in northern Minnesota, but she encourages anyone and everyone to try it out as a new hobby.

“It is so exciting, there are so many things to come in and tinker with, and there’s some really ways to get started and some really useful resources here in the store, where you don’t have to feel like you’re doing this alone,” Hagglund said.

The store plans to offer home brewing classes starting in August.

They’re already working with local craft brewers to help teach those classes.

Duluth Homebrew Supply also sells materials to make your own wine, mead, cider, and soda pop.
