Duluth Fire Causes Thousands in Damages
Heavy Smoke Billowed from Storage Building
Monday evening at 5:32 p.m. the Duluth Fire Department was called to a report of a possible structure fire at 429 N 63rd Ave West.
Responders found a working fire with heavy smoke showing from the eaves of the large storage building.
The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes of arrival and crews worked for approximately another 90 minutes to complete salvage and overhaul.
19 Firefighters from the Spirit Valley, Lincoln Park, Gary and Downtown fire stations
responded.
The DFD was also assisted by the Duluth Police Department with traffic control.
Damages are estimated to be approximately $10,000 to the structure and $10,000 to contents.
The fire is under investigation by the DFD Fire Marshall’s office.
