The joy of a 50-year class reunion was interrupted Friday by a somber ceremony.

The Duluth Central High School class of 1965 is holding its annual 50-year reunion this weekend while remembering five special classmates.

Scott D. Baldwin, Michael Ray James, Larry Frank Markus, Raymond J. Stevens, and Norman W. Vincent were all killed in action during their service in the Vietnam War.

Classmates said they didn’t hold the ceremony to mourn but to celebrate the lives and memories of their classmates.
