Construction of a new firehouse in Ashland is right on schedule.

The 22,000 square foot building will have 10 sleeping quarters and five bathrooms, which firefighters say is an upgrade from the one sleeping area and one bathroom shared by all workers right now.

An apparatus bay will house 16 pieces of equipment, including three fire engines and four ambulances.

Plus, a training tower will allow for improved on–site instruction.

The building is scheduled to be ready for move–in this Christmas.
