Cleaning up and moving forward are what’s on the minds of those at the Sacred Heart Music Center after a pick–up truck plowed through a corner of their building Thursday afternoon, destroying the drum practice room.
Pat Carson, Wedding Coordinator at Sacred Heart Music Center, was getting the room ready for a wedding this weekend, and had just stepped out of the room when the collision happened.
“It was like a huge bang and then you could hear the bricks falling, and of course falling on the pick–up,” described Carson.
Right now, the staff there is still trying to figure out where funds for the repairs will come from, and hope to keep the cost under $50,000.
“And we’re hoping that individuals and others will step forward at this moment since we suddenly find ourselves in a corner that we hadn’t planned on being in,” said Arno Kahn, Vice President at the Sacred Heart Music Center.
Repairs are hoped to be complete by mid–October.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
He was cited for driving without a valid license and an equipment violation.
