The 2015 Duluth-Superior Pride Weekend has officially begun with the Mayor’s Reception.
More than a hundred people showed up at the Depot Thursday to mark the four-day kick off of Pride.
Organizers say it’s all about bringing together the entire community – gay or straight.
“We all have brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers and lots of straight friends. So to be able to share that with the entire community — and have their acceptance — means a lot,” said Gabriel Dee, with Duluth-Superior Pride.
FOX 21’s Dan Hanger and Diane Alexander were honored to accept awards from the Pride Committee as this year’s Grand Marshals for the Pride Parade this Sunday at noon on Tower Avenue in Superior.
Meanwhile, Dan and Diane met a super FOX 21 fan at the reception.
She’s Kennedy Popplewell, 8, of Superior.
