Early Saturday morning many residents of downtown Duluth woke up to the sounds of multiple gunshots and loud screams.

At 2:08 AM, Duluth police responded to the area of 1st Avenue West and 1st Street.

Witnesses say the streets were crowded with people leaving the downtown bars.

Police arrested a 19–year–old on charges of 2nd degree assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol and without a permit, and underage consumption of alcohol.

No injuries were reported.

A bullet went through the front window of the Paper Hog on West 1st Street.

Police say this does not appear to be a random act of violence.

They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recorded video to contact the Duluth Police Violent Crimes Unit right away.
