Deadline Looms for Parks and Recreations Grant

The deadline is looming to apply for a neighborhood grant in Duluth.
Since 2012, Parks and Recreations have offered $100,000 in grants every year to spruce up community or neighborhood areas.
Some of the first grant money helped to spruce up the rec facility at Piedmont.
“It’s not a very large grant, it is $5,000, but it’s amazing what a group can do with $5,000 because than they put in their own volunteer labor and sometimes they have things donated,” said Duluth Parks and Recreation Manager Kathy Bergen.
The application deadline is October 1st.
