The third annual Cruise for Cancer was held Saturday.

The event kicked off at Kmart in West Duluth.

Every year proceeds go to a local family in need.

This year the money will help 4-year-old Jace.

He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 2-years-old.

Although he is currently in remission the fight isn’t over as prescriptions and medical bills still need to be paid.

Participants of the fundraiser spent the day cruising in their cars to raise money.

“Throughout the day they are encouraged to go at their leisure and split up into groups and attend all 35 or so stops. They stop at all stops and receive a stamp at stops, and turn in that map and receive an event t–shirt. Everyone is cruising around all day,” said the event organizer Rachel Netzel.

The grassroots effort hopes to raise $10,000
