Local trade unions have taken up their displeasure with a Duluth hotel.

Labor union representatives have been protesting outside the Radisson Hotel over the use of non-union laborers for tasks like carpeting and painting.

Union raps handed out flyers Friday calling the hotel the RAT-ison and recommending guests stay elsewhere.

They’re out of town, the money could be spent locally, besides the union you know we got our set wages and good benefits, and the standard of living is much better,” said retired union painter Ron Foucault.

The owners of the Radisson released a statement saying they’re using 6 non-union tradespeople and local labor unions have refused to submit bids for other jobs throughout the hotels remodel process.
