It was a so-called China town hall Monday at UMD’s Labovitz School of Business and economics.

The purpose of the discussions was to help Americans better understand the working relationship with China and who Chinese investments play a role in the American economy even on a local level.

“It is a way to expose folks to what kinds of opportunities are available in international business, even if you’re right here in Duluth,” said Mark Labovitz, CEO of the Lion Hotel Group.

The event was put on by the National Committee on US-China Relations.
More than 100 students attended.
