Twin Cities Author to Host Book Signing at Fitger’s

'Whispering Pines' Tells Stories of Northland Cabin Life

St. Paul author Elliot Foster will hold a book signing for his new novel ‘Whispering Pines: Tales From a Northwoods Cabin.’

The book’s journal entries date back to the 1950s from Lake Dunbar which is about 45 miles north of Grand Rapids.

Foster’s family has been journaling about events that have happened at the family’s cabin since before he was born.

“Early journal entries were about the things my grandparents had done at the cabin, such as digging the well or putting in their first refrigerator; but over time the journals morphed into a treasure trove of memories,” said Foster. 

Foster was so inspired by those journal entries that a few years ago he started work on a memoir he intended to publish for the family.

It wasn’t long, however, before he found himself embellishing here and there.

Now that memoir has evolved into a novel.

Foster’s speaking and signing event is scheduled for Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m. at The Bookstore at Fitger’s.
