An investigation is underway into what St. Louis County authorities say were threats made by a 13-year-old student on Facebook about her school.

Sheriff’s officials say the South Ridge School student quoted lyrics of a Slim Jesus song that talked about shooting up the school just outside of Duluth.

The girl was taken into custody and interviewed before school started Monday.

As a precaution, law enforcement was on campus during the beginning of classes.

The district notified parents of the incident through its instant messenger alert system and on Facebook.

St. Louis County Public Schools Superintendent Steve Sallee released this statement:

“In talking with law enforcement, we were 100% convinced that our students at school were in no danger and there was no threat. It was a frustrating situation for parents because we are dealing with minors and we were not able to share any specific information at the time.”

The case has been turned over to the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office to consider any potential charges.
