Free Fresh Pressed Cider

300-Pounds of Apples

If you were near Harrison Community Center Wednesday you might have seen a stand for free apple cider.

Community Action Duluth’s Seeds of Success chopped and pressed nearly 300-pounds of apples.

In the last week they have gathered nearly one ton of the seasonal fruits, for a new project.

“So, essentially what we’ll be doing is we will be processing the apples, dehydrating them and then selling them as a little fruit leather,” said Seeds of Success Program Coordinator Chanti Calabria.

The organizations hope is to sell the apple leather at the farmer’s market next year.
