Twin Ports Women Honored at YWCA Luncheon

12th Annual Women of Distinction Luncheon

Four women who have made significant contributions to the Northland were honored Tuesday.

The honorees were part of the Duluth YWCA’s 12th annual  Women of Distinction awards. 

Six people were nominated were for the award.

The four selected were Scherrie Foster from Fond Du Lac Tribal and Community College , Kelly Burger from CASDA (Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse), Lee Stuart from CHUM, and Hannah Smith from the City of Duluth Indigenous Commission.

“We need to support women so that they can continue this hard work. It’s really hard to stick your neck out and do the hard work that needs to be done that makes a difference in our community. These women need to be recognized to support that work and help it continue,” said Sarah Priest YWCA Board President.

This year’s luncheon was dedicated to the Domestic Violence Education and Support services offered by the YWCA.
