Today is Love Your Melon Day.

It’s a day college students around the country will pass out hats to children battling cancer.

UMD Campus Crew representatives for Love Your Melon stopped by FOX Sunrise to talk about the day and organization.

Love Your Melon is an apparel brand run by college students across the country on a mission to give a hat to every child battling cancer in America.

It was started by college students at St. Thomas University in St. Paul a few years ago.

It has now grown and expanded to colleges around the United States.

This year, they plan to give 45,000 hats away.

Thursday night, they will be donating at Essentia Health St. Mary’s at 4 p.m.

UMD has sold the fifth most hats in the country.
