Speak Your Peace is a local group that has been around for 12 years.
They encourage civility in the community and productive discussion.
Rob Karwath, with Speak Your Peace, says the qualities they promote are things we learn in kindergarten, but seem to have forgotten.
The group is hosting three workshops happening in the coming weeks to show the community how each of us can make a difference.
The first is Saturday, October 31 from 9 a.m. to noon. This workshop will be focused on why civility is important in the society.
The second will be Thursday, November 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. This will be focused on the importance of listening.
The third is Wednesday, December 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This workshop will look at effective communication techniques.
All workshops will be held at the Coppertop Church, First United Methodist Church at 230 E. Skyline Parkway, Duluth.
They are all free and open to the public.
