Staff at a restaurant along the North Shore is asking for volunteers to help move as the business closes for good.

Everything inside Lighthouse at Emily’s needs to be out of the building by Saturday.

The owners recently lost their father and employees say they wanted to relieve the burden of moving.

The restaurant’s closure has been called a big loss to the people of Knife River who are standing behind the restaurant.

“I think we’re all pretty overwhelmed. Everybody has been so positive on our Facebook page and supporting us and saying they don’t want us to go and all that, but I think this even went a lot farther reaching because the girls have always been so good to the community,” said Cynthia Lovold, restaurant manager.

Lighthouse at Emily’s is closing after the North Shore Scenic Railroad failed to reach a purchase agreement with the building’s current owner.

To volunteer, contact Carol Ojard Carlson at 218-834-5950.
