Sorry, this video is no longer available

This morning, FOX 21’s Natalie Froistad sat down with a political analyst to talk about today’s local elections.

Duluth will be getting a new mayor.

Neill Atkins, political analyst, believes mayoral candidate Chuck Horton is a “nuts and bolts kind of neighborhood guy” and Emily Larson “is articulate.”

Atkins also noted current Mayor Don Ness will be remembered for growing the city and the development that has happened.

He added Mayor Ness has been a catalyst and not an obstacle.

There will be four new Duluth City Councilors. Atkins gave his perspective on where the council could be headed.

You can view the interview for more insight on the election.

Voting is underway and the polls remain open until 8 p.m.
