Festival of Trees Kicks Off the Holidays in Duluth

Northland's largest holiday arts and crafts show, tradition to many.

With the Festival of Trees over, people of Duluth are all set for the holiday season.

The Junior League of Duluth has been holding this show for twenty nine years, implementing it as a holiday tradition in Duluth.

“The timing of it means that it runs straight into other wonderful twin ports traditions Bentleyville, and the Christmas city of the north and a lot of families have traditions where they all come here together just before thanksgiving to get in to the spirit,” said President of Junior League Duluth, Jennifer Webb.

The Northland’s largest arts and crafts show hosted over 150 vendors this weekend and some of them even use the weekend to shop themselves.

“If we’ve had a really good week we tend to do our Christmas shopping. I like to buy handmade craft things and you find a lot of uniqueness here,” said Gayle Dopp, owner of Ol’ Babes.

Jennifer Webb said they aren’t sure how much they raised this pass weekend yet but with the amount of people coming through the doors they believe it was successful.
