26th Annual Thanksgiving Buffet at the DECC

Food Provided for Over 6,000 People

Thousands of people gathered together at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center Thursday to celebrate the holiday.

Twin Ports Community volunteers and the College of St. Scholastica produced the event to provide a free turkey dinner with all the trimmings for around 6,000 people.

1,300 meals were also delivered to community members at no cost.

Donations from people and businesses, along with over 1,000 volunteers, make the event possible each year.

And although people come for the turkey, organizers say it’s an event that helps the community bond together.

The Thanksgiving buffet served almost 3,000 pounds of turkey, over 2,000 pounds of potatoes, and around 150 gallons of gravy.
