Duluth Protesters March Through Downtown
Duluth Held a Protest After Shooting in Minneapolis
Demonstrators were out tonight protesting and marching in downtown Duluth in support of the “black lives matter” protests in Minneapolis.
The group, calling themselves the “justice city coalition” were standing in solidarity with the five protesters who were shot in Minneapolis earlier this week.
Event organizers say racism is thriving in our communities, especially after two men with northland ties, who they called “white supremacists”, were arrested in connection to the shootings.
Protesters were calling for change and social justice in light of the shootings.
“We wanted people to let people know that no, we are not immune to racism in our area. we have it going on and now people need to take their heads out of the sand and start to work on these issues,” said Kym Young, justice city council.
More than 15 people showed up to the protest, which went from downtown Duluth to Bentleyville.
