Pearl Harbor Remembered in the Northland
Community Members and Veterans Gather at the DECC
Decades since Pearl Harbor was attacked, Northlanders remember the date that will live in infamy.
Japanese naval and air forces attacked the United States On December 7th, 1941.
It’s been 74 years since the attack that plunged the country in to World War 2, and community members gathered together to honor and remember the historic day.
More than 2,000 American soldiers and sailors lost their lives. Among those, over 1,000 died when the battleship USS Arizona was bombed .
The remembrance ceremony was held at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. It included a presentation of colors by the Duluth honor guard, speakers, and a rifle salute.
