Northlanders Feel “The Force”
Fans Flock to Theaters for 'Star Wars' Premiere
There aren’t a lot of film franchises that require the theaters to stay open for 24 hours, but “Star Wars” is another story.
Episode VII of the “Star Wars” franchise, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” premiered at Duluth Cinema 10 in Canal Park at 7 p.m. Thursday, and will run continuously until the theater closes early Saturday morning.
Fans got in line as early as noon Thursday to make sure they had their choice of seat for Disney’s first installment in the “Star Wars” universe.
Marcus Theaters provided photo opportunities with various “Star Wars” characters, and plenty of fans showed up decked out as their favorite character from the film series.
“The Force Awakens” is the first film in the franchise since 2005’s “Revenge of the Sith.”
