Pedestrian Killed By Alleged Drunken Driver Is Remembered
Brian Respler Was 37 Years Old
Duluth police responded to reports of a person who was hit and killed by a vehicle near Grand Avenue and Main Street in West Duluth Saturday.
On Monday, police identified the victim as Brian Respler, 37, of Duluth.
Family and friends took to Facebook to honor and remember him.
Respler was an avid wrestling fan and even hosted a show on Public Access Community Television in Duluth called “Wrestling Connection.”
Employees at Goodwill Duluth, where he worked for a decade, wore black Monday to honor Respler.
Goodwill released a statement:
All of us at Goodwill Duluth are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and co-worker, Brian Respler. An employee of Goodwill for over ten years, Brian was dependable, hardworking, and took great pride in his work. Brian was well known throughout Goodwill and had many friends here. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this most difficult time.
Respler leaves behind a wife and four children.
The 27-year-old driver involved in the fatal accident is behind bars facing charges of criminal vehicular homicide and 2nd degree DWI.
Formal charges are expected to be filed Tuesday in St. Louis County Court, which is when the suspect’s name will be released.
