Police Chief Ramsay Packs Up On Last Day

Duluth Police Chief Gordon Ramsay officially cleared his office Tuesday afternoon – on his last day on the job.
Ramsay is getting ready to move to Wichita, Kansas, to take on the role as chief of police.
Ramsay told FOX 21’s Dan Hanger, it was not an easy decision, but it just felt right.
“I’ll be back someday. And I’m going to work hard to make my hometown proud. But, it’s almost like this was meant to be. Everything has fallen into place all along the line and the opportunities that are ahead of me — it gets me really excited,” Ramsay said.
Ramsay has been Duluth’s top cop since 2006, which 11 years on the force before that.
An interim police chief will be announced by Mayor Larson Feb. 1, when the application process opens up at a nationwide level.
