52 Dead in Mexico Prison Riot

Mexican authorities say 52 people are dead following a fight after a brutal fight broke at a prison on Thursday.

Inmates set fires during the riot, which affected two of the prison’s units.

Authorities say the riot started out as a fight between two rival groups inside of the Topo Chico Prison.

Gov. Jaime Rodriguez says the fight involved a faction led by a member of the infamous Zetas drug cartel.

Twelve inmates were injured.  Five remain in critical condition.
