UPDATE: Fargo Officer Shot During Standoff Dies

Police say the officer shot during a standoff at a home in Fargo has died.

Officials say 33-year-old Officer Jason Moszer died at 12:45 Thursday afternoon from a single gunshot wound.

Moszer was shot while responding to a domestic violence incident at a home in Fargo Wednesday night.

He is the first Fargo officer to die in the line of duty in more than a century.

Police identified 49-year-old Marcus Schumacher as the shooter.  He was found dead in the home after a stand-off that lasted 11 hours.

It’s unclear if Schumacher was hit in an exchange of gunfire with police, or if he shot himself.
