Gov. Dayton orders Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Slain Fargo Officer

Governor Dayton has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings on Monday in honor of slain Fargo Police Officer Jason Moszer. 

Moszer was a resident of Sabin, Minnesota.  

The 33-year-old was killed in the line of duty on February 11. 

Moszer was shot while responding to a domestic violence incident at a home in Fargo the night before.  He died from a single gunshot wound .

The suspect, 49-year-old Marcus Schumacher, was found dead in the home after a stand-off that lasted 11 hours. 

Moszer joined the Fargo Police Department in November of 2009. Before that, he served in the Minnesota National Guard as a combat medic. 

A public memorial for Moszer will be held on Monday at Scheels Arena in Fargo, before the 1:00 p.m. funeral service. 

Moszer leaves behind a wife and two kids.
