Snowshoe Race Helps Local Firefighters

Dozens of people got their snowshoes on Sunday to support the Oakland Volunteer Fire Department.

The snowshoe race and festivities were held this weekend in South Range.

The event started in the 1970s and was re-birthed in the late 1980s with a new partnership.

“Parents can bring kids they can slide on the hill, they can see a helicopter take off, they can watch the races and just be together for a cheap nice day. To spend time with their family.”
