Iron Range Youth Conference Held in Tower
430 Students Gathered for Meeting
Around 430 students could be seen at the 21’st annual Iron Range Young Leader’s Make a Difference Conference held at Fortune Bay Resort in Tower Minnesota.
It’s an event by students, for students, put on by the group Iron Range Youth in Action, with the support of St. Louis county and many Iron Range Businesses.
Students from 13 iron range schools attended.
The objective of the conference is to help students realize that they can make a difference in the world, starting right in their own schools.
These messages were spread through presentations given by students.
“I think it’s good to open your mind to new ideas and you can learn things from listening to other people,” said Chloe Poaletti, a student attending the conference.
The presentations covered a wide range of topics, from job searching to stress management
“They’re topics that are very interesting to them initially that they want to teach others about,” said Taryn Burnett, the Youth Coordinator for St. Louis County.
The half day conference included a keynote speaker who spoke out against bullying, and a hypnotherapist.
