Lake Superior Ice Festival Draws Thousands
The Superior ice sculpture has drawn in thousands of people to see the outdoor attraction.
According to Mary Morgan, Director of Superior Parks and Recreation, more than 7,000 people stopped to see the ice castle since Monday, February 15.
As of Monday morning, around 2,434 cars have entered the Barker’s Island Festival parking lot to catch a glimpse of Iceman Roger’s creation.
The Lake Superior Ice Festival kicked off on Saturday, February 20 and runs through Saturday, February 27.
There will be local food trucks on site and a variety of free events including photo opportunities with ice princesses, bonfires and smores, a live radio broadcast and a beautiful fireworks show over the ice castle.
Local businesses are offering a variety of lodging, dining and shopping specials all week to commemorate the event.
