MnDOT to Trim Trees on London Road
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be trimming trees along London Road between South 26th Avenue and the Lester River in Duluth.
There is no set date for the project, but MnDOT says trees and other vegetation with low-hanging branches will be cut as soon as staff is available and the weather permits.
Trucks and other large vehicles have been hitting the low hanging branches and MnDOT says they need to be removed to provide clearance for safe passage and prevent damage to cars.
Trees and vegetation invading sidewalks will also be trimmed or removed, if necessary. Diseased trees and those that obscure traffic signs or that are too close to power lines will be evaluated for trimming or removal.
MnDOT will seek approval from property owners for any tree trimming that passes over private property lines, however, most of the tree trimming will occur on MnDOT right of way.
Motorists are asked to pay attention and slow down when approaching these work zones.
