Republicans Pack Caucus In Duluth

Streets near the Republican caucus in Duluth were packed Tuesday, and the 7 p.m. start time was even delayed because of the amount of people eager to have their voices heard.

Representatives read messages from each of the Republican nominees before votes were cast.

In each precinct, voters ranged from those who’ve been voicing their opinions for years to those who will have theirs heard for the very first time.

“It’s a little weird at first because you don’t know much about it because that’s kind of a way to get educated is to do research on your own, talking about what they think about views, doing research on the computer on candidates, watching things and trying to find unbiased research,” said first time caucus attendee Garrett Savoie.

Many University of Minnesota Duluth students made it a community event with strength in numbers.

Each voter was ready to take their part in the democratic process and excited for things coming up in the election.
