One Injured in Car vs. Semi Crash in Superior

One person was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a car struck a semi in Superior Tuesday morning.

Superior police say that the semi-truck pulled out of E Street, intending to go south on Highway 53, when it was struck by a driver heading Northbound on Highway 53 (east 2nd Street).

The car left 238 feet of skid marks before colliding with the truck and becoming lodged underneath the trailer.

The 35-year-old driver was extricated from the car and taken to St. Lukes Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the preliminary investigation points towards speed and impatience on behalf of the driver, as factors in the crash.

Police have not yet determined if any citations will be issued.
