Eat Downtown Week
Greater Downtown Council promotes downtown restaurants this week.
Now in its seventh year, Eat Downtown Week promoted by the Greater Downtown Council in Duluth gives many a chance to chow down on something new without breaking the bank..
Being one of the new restaurants on the block, Toasty’s relishes Eat Downtown week.
“It’s a great promotion,” said Thomas Hagen, Toasty’s owner and chef.
This is Toasty’s very first Eat Downtown week and they’ve already seen nearly three hundred new customers in addition to their regulars.
“We still have to get the word out a little bit. We haven’t done a lot of shaking of hands or moving around so this is a great way for us to promote ourselves,” said Hagen.
Eat Downtown features twenty-two restaurants, the most ever to participate in the event.
“It’s been going great so far,” said Darlene Marshall, special events coordinator for the Greater Downtown Council.
All the restaurants have a ten dollar three course lunch menu and a dinner for twenty-five dollars.
“This is the perfect opportunity to go someplace where you haven’t gone before. Check them out at a very nice price and get back to your old favorites too,” said Marshall.
While diners enjoy the savory flavors of the Bent Paddle black French beer onion soup and the creme brule bread pudding at Toasty’s, they just might’ve also bitten into their favorite restaurant.
“It’s been one of our best weeks,” said Hagen.
