Minnesota Elementary School Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Girl
A teacher at a Blaine elementary school is charged with sexually abusing a student.
52-year-old Kenneth Sonnenfeld was charged Wednesday with one count of Felony Second Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.
Anoka County Sheriff’s authorities say a 10-year-old girl reported Sonnenfeld inappropriately touched her during a class.
According to court documents, the girl said the alleged abuse happened from December 2014 through the spring of 2015, when she was 9. The child said Sonnenfeld would touch her while she was standing next to him at his desk.
Sonnenfeld was arrested Tuesday. He remains behind bars, and will appear in court on Thursday.
Sonnenfeld taught fourth grade at Johnson Elementary School. The Anoka-Hennepin School District says he is on administrative leave.
