Carlton County Experiencing 911 Outage

Portions of Carlton County are experiencing a 911 outage.

The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office says the AT&T network is down, and citizens are unable to make 911 calls from cell phones.

Phones within Carlton County exchange of 485, 389, and 384 near the Moose Lake, Barnum, Blackhoof and Mahtowa areas are unable to call 911.

If you have an emergency, you can call your local fire hall or go to your fire hall for help.

Anyone within the 485 exchange that has MediaCom as their provider can call 218-384-9520. All others can call 218-485-8404.

Anyone within the 389 exchange can call either:

Barnum Fire Hall at 218-389-4443

Mahtowa Fire Hall 218-389-6262

Anyone within the 384 exchange is asked to call the Carlton Fire Hall at 218-384-4158.

Police say its unknown what the problem is at this time, however the proper authorities have been notified and are working to fix the issue.
