UMD Clean Snowmobile Team

Team comes home with an award for their engine design.

Having good clean fun is the mission for some UMD civil engineering students. Members of the Clean Snowmobile Challenge team just got back from Michigan after a week’s worth of competitions in Michigan.

The team has worked on their snowmobile since May and came home with an award for their engine design.

More than twenty teams from around the world competed.

The students came home not only with trophies but experience they’ll take with them always.

“It really simulates what we’re going to see in the workplace, everything from the project management to as far as the lines go all they way to the financials to fundraising…all management of deadlines. It’s a big add for all of us going to school for engineering,” said team president Brenden Bungert.

Eight students went to the competition.

Next year, the team wants to focus more on their chassis design.
