DTA Awards UMD Student For Being 6.5 Millionth Rider

A Junior at UMD got money and prizes for being the 6,500,000 passenger on the Duluth transit system.

Breanna Adams, a Biology major at UMD, received $1,500 and a gift basket for using the transit system.

Adams said “I was surprised. I thought it was a scam and I asked if they had the wrong ID number. I have never really won anything so it was really exciting. After riding the bus for three years it kind of felt like a good give back.”

Adams plans to give the money to her parents to repay them for the money that they have given her over the years.
