Virginia State Trooper Dies after Shooting at Bus Station

Virginia State Police are mourning the loss of one of their troopers killed Thursday in the line of Duty. 

Virginia State Police Trooper Chad Dermeyer died after being shot at a Greyhound bus station during a training exercise. 

Authorities have identified the gunman as 34-year-old James Brown III of Aurora, Illinois.  

Police say Brown shot Trooper Dermeyer several times at the Greyhound bus station.  Two state troopers returned fire, killing him. 

Police are continuing to investigate a motive. 

Two women were also injured in the shooting, and are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
