Members of U of M Board of Regents Visit UMD

Tours School To Meet Students And Faculty

Members of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents visited UMD to meet with students, faculty and staff.

The regents toured the campus to learn about the building projects and research happening at UMD. Their tour continued on to UMD’s Large Lakes Observatory, Sea Grant, and to the Natural Resources Research Institute.

“One of the impressions that I will take away from this visit to Duluth, is the fine quality of leadership of students at UMD, that care deeply about this institution, about their future, and about their education,” said Dean Johnson, the Chair of the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.

The regents also looked at some of UMD’s projects before the legislature and the bonding bill, which includes work on the school’s Chemistry building, and the athletic complex.
